As any serious guitarist, my axe is my most vital piece of equipment. Therefore, each guitar that I’ve collected has a specific use in my overall plan, whether it is for use on stage or in my own music/recording studio (that I’ve set-up in one of our upstairs bedrooms).
Let’s start with my "Grand Daddy of Blues"; Gibson Custom B.B. King Lucille that I have set-up with D’Addario ECG24 Chromes Jazz Light 11-50 Flat Wound Strings. This axe is soooo sweeeet! I have the action set very tight to the neck, allowing me to play those bluesy/jazzy riffs quicker than I have in the past. In the history of all music, there’s never been a guitar associated with one musician quite like blues legend B.B. King is linked to his beloved Lucille – a custom-built Gibson ES-355 manufactured exclusively for the true “King of the Blues” since 1980.

"It seems that it loves to be petted and played with. There's also a certain way you hold it, the certain noises it makes, the way it excites me ... and Lucille don't want to play anything but the blues ... Lucille is real, when I play her it's almost like hearing words, and of course, naturally I hear cries." — B.B. King, liner notes from the album, Lucille, 1968
