After several years and multiple hours of playing time on my Godin LG Signature, I started looking into some of their other models. I really became very interested in both the A6 Ultra and the Multiac Nylon Series, acoustic-electric guitars after listening to various artists playing these models and demonstrating them on www.YouTube.com .
The photo below represents my current collection of Godin guitars including my first LG Signature (Trans Blue) model on the guitar stand right up front. The very next purchase was just last year when I was strolling around the Guitar Center in Glen Burnie, MD. I happened to notice that they had a slightly used A6 Ultra (in back, off to the left in the photo below) in the Natural finish. It was in beautiful condition and the finish was flawless. I couldn’t believe it was one of the models that I was truly interested in getting my hands on so I snagged it right up. I haven’t stopped playing it since I brought it home.
The Multiac Nylon Models were really beginning to interest me because I had recently started working on learning some of Al DiMeola’s acoustic material and my better half and I had the opportunity to catch him in concert in Lehigh Valley, PA so I saw and heard him first hand which inspired me to start looking for a nylon string (classical model), acoustic-electric guitar.
This is a nice photo of my Godin A6 Ultra in Natural finish. I have it set-up with D’Addario ECG24 Chromes Jazz Light 11-50 Flat Wound Strings just like my other guitars. You can’t beat em’ !
Multiac Nylon ACS-SA Series:
The first Godin nylon model that I purchased was the MULTIAC ACS-SA NYLON in Black Pearl finish. The MULTIAC Series guitar line of Godin is their acoustic-electric series (both steel and nylon string) that comes equipped with Custom RMC electronics with a 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synthesizers.
The ACS-SA blends classical guitar concepts with elements of solid body design. The incredibly comfortable neck from the Multiac Nylon is used here with a Maple body & Cedar top to achieve our most affordable synth access guitar ever. Although the body is chambered, response from the maple top is more typical of a solid body design than that of a traditional acoustic guitar. This design results in an instrument that is virtually free of feedback, making it easy to use even when the band gets loud.
The engine in both the ACS-SA & ACS-SA Slim includes individual transducer saddles powered by a customized preamp system from the RMCTM Pickup Company.
Multiac Nylon ACS-SA Series:
"A truly beautiful instrument that bridges the gap between a traditional nylon string guitar and the sci-fi future of computers, synths and samplers. I could not have done my Flamenco A Go Go record without it!" - Steve Stevens
"When I play guitar, I need tone and quality. The fact that my ACS doesn't feedback is an added bonus. Godin Guitars give me all this and more." - Aaron Mclain (Marc Anthony Band)
The last and most recent purchase of mine occurred a couple months ago when, once again, I was in the Glen Burnie Guitar Center just sitting around talking with my friend Nik Kosmas (Repair Tech / Audio Engineer) who runs their Repair Center when one of their key sales people brought over a beautiful, slightly used Godin Multiac Nylon Sa Grand Concert guitar that someone just brought in on a trade.
The salesman knew that I was a big Godin guitar fan so he thought of me right away. Of course, I started to play that axe within minutes from when he showed it to me and it didn’t take long before I was signing the sales ticket. That guitar was SOLD ! Since it was a used instrument, I had to wait the full 30-day hold period that Anne Arundel County requires the retail store hold the item before releasing it to the purchaser. During that hold period, I purchased a Godin, Faux-fur-lined Hardshell Guitar Case and an original Godin Leather Guitar Strap for each model that I own.
Multiac Nylon SA Grand Concert
The original Multiac Nylon combines cutting edge acoustic guitar design with state-of-the-art on-board electronics and synth access. The 25½" scale, the 1 7/8" nut width, and the fingerboard radius—a slight 16"—all contribute to an easy feel for steel string players to adapt to. This has become the instrument of choice for guitarists of all genres looking to incorporate nylon string guitar sounds in their music.

"I played every kind of acoustic guitar imaginable, the Multiac is the one that best suits my needs live as well as in the studio - I always keep one at home!" - Nelson Gonsalez- Gloria Estefan, John Secada, Marc Anthony Band
"If you want acoustic sound in a live setting, the Multiac is the only way to go!" - Aaron McClain - Marc Anthony Band
"Godin's line of nylon-string electric/acoustic guitars are not only easy to play, but they sound great, travel well, and look really neat. Just about every time I play a Godin at a gig, someone will ask about my guitar!" - Jim Stubblefield - Incendio
I’m finding more and more professional musicians playing Godin guitars.

Randy Bachman is tearing up the Canadian countryside with his Godin Montreal while touring alongside Burton Cummings both from the much famed, classic rock band the Guess Who. Look for them in a town near you.
I’m sure you can tell that I love my Godin guitars. They are very unique in design and they look absolutely beautiful. I hope you take the time to try one out at your nearby music store when you get the chance.
Well, it’s time for me to say goodbye for now, so please have a HAPPY 4th of JULY ! Hope you enjoy your day with your family and friends.
See you again soon;
Bob
Hi, can you give me some insight into how you amp up your A6 Ultra? Do you split the signal or just blend it?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the slow response; I've been in the hospital and also recovering from the surgery at home and simply missed your comment. I use two (2) separate amps for the Godin A6 Ultra. A Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for the electric guitar pickup and a Fender Deluxe 900 for the acoustic guitar pickup on the A6 Ultra. It really makes the guitar sound incredibly full and gives it a depth that you wouldn't believe.
